Happy New Year / A look back over 2016
Happy New Year from everyone at Dragonfly Studios! The team wish you every success moving into 2017.
2016 has certainly been a whirlwind of exciting musical projects at Dragonfly. Some of the artists who have worked at the studio in 2016 include: Gregg Kofi Brown (Osibisa), Paul Davis (Sugababes), Bradley Wool (Young Drummer of the Year), George McKecknie (live sound engineer for Pink Floyd), Nikki G (12 year old performer), Chris & Daya (Singer/Songwriters & Liz May Brice (Actress/Singer/Songwriter).
Tom and the team have also worked on several large festivals, numerous live events with the likes of Tim Hain’s Jamside Up and local Surrey covers band ‘The Revivals’ and hosted performance showcases at many pubs and clubs in the surrounding area (in collaboration with Time Well Spent Ltd & New Music Nights).
Some serious upgrades have also been achieved at the premises such as new sound proofing, refined acoustic absorption, boutique quality valve microphones, Funktion One P.A speakers & Neumann monitors.
2016 has certainly been the year that Dragonfly spread its wings. Diversification into live events and even recording classical and gospel choirs in churches has kept things fresh whilst our work developing young artists ready for successful careers in the music industry has kept us true to our routes.
In closing we leave you with a quote from legendary Producer Joe Meek:
“If it sounds right, it IS right”
Happy New Year!
